Karl J. Van Deusen

Senior Vice President, Federal Business Development & Government Relations

Mr. Van Deusen is an experienced leader and defense advocate. He served in the U.S. Navy for 27 years as a Surface Warfare Officer during which time he commanded Destroyer Squadron Fifty and USS Gonzalez (DDG-66). Shore assignments included multiple tours as a Congressional liaison officer on appropriation matters. In that capacity, he served as the personal advisor to both the Secretary of the Navy and the Chief of Naval Operations.

Mr. Van Deusen worked at a Washington, DC lobbying firm advocating on behalf of his clients in defense related matters including shipboard sensors, energy programs, base operations, military construction projects, military family housing, and defense health. Mr. Van Deusen also founded Broadwater International, Inc., a defense consulting firm, as its President.

Mr. Van Deusen earned a B.A. in History from Marquette University and has M.A. degrees from both the Naval Postgraduate School and the Naval War College.
